Section 5.6: Solving Circle Problems by Working Backwards
This is the final section of Chapter 5: Measurement of Circles. This section introduces students to complex problems, where they have to work backwards to find the radius or diameter of a circle, and then use that knowledge to complete the problem.
We took a few classes to work through four support questions together, exploring the nuances of each.
Students identified what they felt were the most important questions to solve. The following questions are due on Tuesday, October 6th:
- p. 170-71, #5, 6, 9, 11, 12
- p. 173, #2, 5, 7, 8 (Interesting, but optional: #4, 6, 11)
- p. 175, #6, 9(Interesting, but optional: #4, 8)
