This is the beginning of Chapter 5: Measurement of Circles. There are three main goals for this chapter:

- describe the relationships between the radius, diameter, circumference and area of a circle
- develop and apply formulas to determine the circumference and area of a circle
- draw a circle with given measurements

There are 6 sections to the unit:

- 5.1 Exploring Circles
- 5.2 Exploring Circumference and Diameter
- 5.3 Calculating Circumference
- 5.4 Estimating Area
- 5.5 Calculating Area
- 5.6 Solve Problems by Working Backwards

## Evaluation

For this unit, we will be doing an evaluation every Friday. Since it is the start of a new school year, this should help students adjust a bit more quickly to my evaluation style. In addition, at the end of the chapter, I will be evaluating students' cahiers.
